Making a HEPA Case for your Air Pump

Describes a way of enclosing your air pump with a HEPA filter in order to deliver filtered air into your fruiting chamber.

Its Like A Condom...

Materials Needed:
  • A HEPA filter (any size, the bigger the better)
  • A Tupperware container large enough to fit the pump(s) in
    Air line Hosing
  • Pump (Or cool mist, just requires a larger container. Also I only suggest doing this for a cool mist if you are using it for air exchange and not having to add water to it. )
  • A knife
  • A heat source
  • Silicon (I like duct tape HEHEHE)
  • Lysol
  • A screwdriver (phillips head large diameter)

Turn your heat source on and heat the screwdriver till it's extremely hot. Then make two holes in the Tupperware container on the side. This is for the air lines to run through.
Next heat the butter knife till it's red hot. Then make a hole big enough to put the plug for the pump(s) through. Place the pump inside the Tupperware container and put the cord through the large hole. Now cut your desired length of tubing and feed it through the holes and connect it to the pump.
Should look like this :

Then take the knife and get it red hot again. (a utility knife can be substituted but its fun playing with fire).
Taking you are knife cut a hole in the lid of the Tupperware container about 1/16th and inch smaller than the HEPA filter.

Should look like this. . .

Using the silicon seal the HEPA filter onto the top of the lid. Some HEPAs have certain sides intake and out put. Make sure the intake is facing up. . . then use your duct tape ( I do this. . . doesn't mean you have to) and tape the sides of the HEPA to the lid.

Now silicon the holes closed that the hose is through. And silicon the hole with the plug through it closed nice and tight. Now place a towel inside the container and spray it down heavily with Lysol. Using the silicone run a bead around the edge of the container and place the lid on it. Now u have a sealed HEPA case. Let the silicon set in a ventilated area for 24 hours.

After its set run the unit for 12~24 hours to make sure the silicon vapors are completely out. BAM! Hepa Casing!

And now you are asking. . . "KuSsH, Why is it like a condom" Well young one. . . its like a condom because it lets the good stuff in while keeping out the infection. . . .

Have Fun and Be Safe!
