Many people will tell you though that
casings are not hard, and produce larger returns than the cakes directly. This is for you to decide, and holds some truth. Though the time involved is a little longer for casings for those in a hurry ;-)
If you have a pressure cooker, whole
grains are an excellent substrate to work with as well as being the step towards bulk grows for those interested in taking this hobby a little further.
If you are a complete beginner, the cakes are probably the way to go since they bear less chances of a failure and can be produced even without the use of a pressure cooker. But don't be afraid to give whole grains a try if you own a pressure cooker.
